A loan guarantee program available through approved lenders to Native Americans for homes located in Indian Country, both on and off native lands.

Eligibility

  • Tribal member home site must be in an approved HUD 184 area
  • Must meet credit guidelines
  • Funds are based on first-come, first-served basis
  • All loan funds are subject to availability
  • Copy of most recent pay stub for a 30-day period
  • Must provide landlord or mortgage lenders' information for the last two years
  • Copy of award letter for SSI, AFDC, retirement income, etc.
  • Copy of W2 statements for past two years
  • Copy of date and filed federal tax return or tax transcripts for past two years
  • Copy of most recent bank statement with bank name, address, and account information
  • Copy of SSN card and a valid state issued photo ID or driver's license for all borrowers
  • Copy of front and back of CDIB and tribal membership card

Apply online, by mail or email through Choctaw Home Finance for a referral to an approved lender.

Additional Information

The Section 184 Indian Home Loan Guarantee program is designed for Native American families. Purchase, refinance, and construction loans are available. Choctaw Home Finance down payment assistance loans are available with Section 184 loans to Choctaw tribal members with lender approval. Please contact Choctaw Home Finance for states other than Oklahoma’s requirements.

  • First mortgage: fixed current market interest rate, determined by the lender, terms up to 30 years
  • Choctaw Home Finance Down Payment Assistance Loan: 5% interest for terms of 5 years

Partially approved states:
