Help in Obtaining an Uplifting Safe Environment (Project HOUSE)
Serving individuals in need of transitional housing assistance due to domestic violence situations.
Eligibility
- Must reside within Choctaw Nation service area
- Must be a member or have children/dependents of a federally recognized tribe, verified by a tribal membership card and valid CDIB card
- A victim of intimate partner violence (domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking)
- Homeless as a result of the victimization

Additional Information
The goal is to serve individuals who are in need of housing assistance as a result of fleeing a situation of domestic violence by establishing a holistic, victim-centered program. Services include: transitional housing assistance, safety planning, transportation, child care services, parenting and life skill enhancements, case management, employment, and counseling to help victims overcome the lack of available resources, social and cultural challenges and geographic isolation. Funding made available through a grant with Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.
