Oklahoma Indian Legal Services (OILS)
Non-profit legal aid office that provides services to low-income Native Americans living in Oklahoma.
Eligibility
- Must reside in Oklahoma
- Must be a member of a federally recognized tribe
- Cannot be involved in a criminal case (including on probation or deferred sentence)
- Must meet income-eligibility requirements established by OILS

OILS is a non-profit legal aid office that provides services to low-income Native Americans living in Oklahoma. The attorneys and staff at OILS represent Native American people in civil cases that are connected to their Native status. OILS’s clients are members of federally recognized tribes who are facing problems that are related to that status. The main OILS office is centrally located in Oklahoma City, with a satellite office in Ada. OILS attorneys provide services to all Oklahoma counties.
OILS is not affiliated with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma but is a separate and independent third-party to which CNO refers certain legal matters. For more information, please visit the OILS website.
