Labor and Delivery

Provides delivery services, anesthesia, recovery, postpartum care and Level 1 nursery services in a state-of-the-art facility located in Talihina.

Eligibility

  • Must have a medical chart with a CNHSA health facility or:
    • CDIB, letter of descendancy, or tribal membership card from a federally recognized tribe
    • Social security card
    • Photo identification card (driver's license)
    • Current insurance information such as Medicare, Medicaid, or Private Insurance
  • For children under 19 years of age, the following documents are required:
    • Child's CDIB or a copy of either parent's CDIB
    • State issued birth certificate or hospital birth record issued by an Indian Health Service or tribal facility

Additional Information

The unit features state-of-the-art LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum) rooms, eliminating the need for transferring rooms following delivery. A fully equipped operating room is located within the unit for cesarean sections. Board Certified Obstetricians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Board Certified Pediatricians, Neonatologists and a highly trained nursing staff are available to serve patient needs. Our skilled CRNA’s (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) are available to ease the discomfort of childbirth. Any questions or concerns are encouraged and can be discussed with the provider during prenatal visits as well as other women’s health needs at the Women’s Clinic in Talihina.

The mission of Cribs for Kids® is to prevent infant sleep-related deaths by educating parents and caregivers on the importance of practicing safe sleep for their babies and by providing portable cribs to families who otherwise cannot afford a safe place for their babies to sleep. Below is a pamphlet with safe sleep practices for new families. Speak to the Labor and Delivery Unit to inquire about other services such as assistance in obtaining a portable and safe sleeping unit.
