Halito,

While we’re spending time with family and giving thanks during Native American Heritage Month, it’s also National Entrepreneurship Month.

I’d like to recognize the Nation’s Small Business Development (CSBD) program that provides assistance to our Chahtapreneurs who want to start or expand their business within the Choctaw Nation reservation. The CSBD provides specialized assistance through one-on-one business counseling, training, workshops, an extensive network of business assistance programs, and access to other educational networking opportunities.

Additionally, Small Business Development annually recognizes one Choctaw-owned small business from each district for their work ethic, perseverance, and business successes, as well as one exceptional business for its Chahtapreneur of the Year award.

I’m proud of our Chahtapreneurs, who are creating new job opportunities and economic growth throughout southeast Oklahoma.

They are truly living out the Chahta Spirit in life and business.

Yakoke and God bless!
