Charleston turns 101

GM “Choc” Charleston turned 101 on Dec. 24.

The Choctaw elder and World War II veteran to be commemorated in Belgium for service in Battle of Bulge. The Belgian king and queen are recognizing GM “Choc” Charleston, for his role in a major turning point in the war.

Charleston was also honored during the Nov. 11 OKC Thunder game, where he got to meet the players and wave to the fans.

At the Dec. 3 Bethany Oklahoma City Council Meeting, Charleston was presented with a certificate of recognition for his life and service.
