Offering eligible HUD assisted families access to support services that can help them achieve self-sufficiency, which makes federal resources more readily available to serve more families.

Eligibility

  • Reside in Choctaw Nation Housing Authority units inside the reservation boundaries

Additional Information

Envision Center focuses on four pillars for success, Economic Empowerment, Educational Advancement, Health and Wellness and Character and Leadership.

  • Economic Empowerment: Will assist in improving economic stability of individuals receiving HUD assisted rental housing by empowering them to improve their economic outlook.
  • Educational Advancement: Will assist in bringing education opportunities to HUD assisted housing participants, which will include private and public organizations that approach education in non-traditional platforms.
  • Health and Wellness: Will improve access to health outcomes by individuals and families in HUD assisted housing.
  • Character and Leadership: Will enable individuals and families in HUD assisted housing, especially young people, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens by encouraging participation in volunteer and mentoring opportunities.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

The EnVision Center has partnered with the IRS to provide free tax preparations for Choctaw Nation Tribal Members. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) initiative in the United States that provides free tax preparation services for underserved individuals. It offers free tax help to people who are generally low to moderate income, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers.

2024 Tax Prep(VITA)

  • Envision Center offers free basic tax preparation for tribal members with a combined household income of $67,000 and below.
  • The following tax forms can be prepared: W-2, W-2G, SSA-1099, 1099-R, 1099-G,1099-C, Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Credit.
  • The following tax forms cannot be prepared: Itemized deductions, Schedule C, Schedule D, Self Employment
