Ethan Williams qualifies for State
Ethan Williams, and his team qualified for the Texas High School State Championship at Lake Texoma. The 15-year-old Choctaw tribal member attends White Oak High School in White Oak, Texas. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. He has spent the last five spring breaks fishing for crappie at Atoka Lake with his Uncle Bob.
White Oak High School won the state tournament in 2018. During the tournament, competitors can only keep five fish that are at least 14 inches long. The team that has the most total weight wins.
This year, Ethan’s team placed 147 out of 243 teams with four fish and a total weight of 9.05 lbs.
