Boman turns 99

Choctaw tribal member Melba Marie Boman is 99 years young! She celebrated her birthday on December 13.

Many family members and friends called to convey birthday wishes. Yakoke! She especially enjoyed a birthday video made by her three-year-old great-great-granddaughter and namesake, Ava Marie Ganote.

Melba is the daughter of Choctaw original enrollees Roosevelt Bacon and Josie (Woods) Bacon. She retired from I.H.S. and is a lifetime resident of the Choctaw Nation.
