Choctaw Language Film Festival

Is your high school student passionate about the Choctaw language and eager to express themself through film? Do they want to show off their skills and talents in a creative way? The Chahta Anumpa Aiikhvna (School of Choctaw Language) invites your student to participate in our annual film festival for a chance to win!

Requirements

  • Participants must be a high school student enrolled in a Chahta Anumpa/Choctaw accredited class.
  • Submissions due April 7, 2025

How to Enter

  • Submissions will be completed by the following method:
    • Provide the link from the unlisted YouTube video on the webform below.
  • Participants can only be in one group.
  • The participating producer must complete the film/video and submit by 11:59pm April 7, 2025.
  • A person designated by the Choctaw Nation will announce the winner based on the judge’s reviewed rubric.
  • Winning team will receive a prize of:
    • 1st place: Certificate, Workshop to produce extended film; working alongside experts in the Video Production field and a District (Durant) fun pass to be used during working session day.
      • District (Durant) pass will include lunch, arcade and bowling.
    • 2nd place: Certificate and District (Durant) fun pass and gift certificate for 1 large Papa Johns’ pizza for each student.
    • 3rd place: Certificate and one (1) movie pass to the District (Durant) per student.
  • Winners will be contacted via announcement at the Language End of Year Celebration in Durant
  • After winner selection and awards have been announced Choctaw Nation reserves the right to usage of the video at any time needed.
  • Credit will be given to creator.
